The HPE Smart Array E208i-p SR Gen10 Controller is a cost-effective and reliable SAS controller that provides advanced storage management features for HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers. The controller supports 12 Gb/s SAS and 6 Gb/s SATA hard drives and solid-state drives, and offers a maximum data transfer rate of 12 Gb/s SAS. The E208i-p SR Gen10 controller has eight internal ports and supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60.

This controller is designed with HPE’s SmartCache technology which accelerates the performance of frequently accessed data by allowing the controller to cache data in its own memory. Additionally, it support for HPE SmartPath, which provides advanced path management for environments using multiple paths to storage. The HPE Smart Array E208i-p SR Gen10 controller also supports HPE SmartStorage Battery which is a Lithium-ion battery that provides a backup power source to the controller memory in the event of a power failure, ensuring data integrity during a power interruption.

The HPE Smart Array E208i-p SR Gen10 controller also supports HPE Secure Encryption which is a hardware-based encryption solution that provides data-at-rest encryption on the controller, ensuring that data is always encrypted while stored on the drives.
